I know I go against the grain here when I say this, but I ink almost exclusively with Sharpies and general fine pointy(.7) Bic pens. The sharpies are water resistant as are teh Bics and they give me the types of lines I'm ok with. Keep in mind I do NOT consider myself a good inker though...for what it's worth.

I have recently discovered the Pentel Brush Pen which has a #4 size brush tip, they also make a smaller version of this pen which has a #2 size tip. The synthetic bristles hold up really well.
On our company page we have a link to Dick Blick where you can get it cheaper than anywhere. General retail is like 7.99.

I have a trusty set of Mars Staedtler pens which are probably older than some of you out there. Copics are also good. I was given a brush pen (don't know the brand off hand), was okay at first but then it started to fray at the tip like a cheap Flair marker. They don't make the good L1's anymore. Want to try more of these as they really flow well and don't 'blop' like a brush if you pause.

Can't get the hang of the digital. A straight line that takes me less than a second to draw freehand takes me 15 minutes to draw with the computer.

I prefer inking with a brush [#0, #1 W&N] and black india ink. Unfortunately I don't really have many brands to choose from and sometimes they are out of stock, so I have to wait.
Lately, I've been using a Pentel brush pen which is really great and I can actually have it with me.
I also use microns and other pens and I like experimenting with quills and nibs.
I cannot really ink digitally, I find it frustrating and my work looks sloppy.

I ink 90% of my stuff with Copic Multiliner SPs. Good stuff, and refillable, so, economic to have.
8 bucks buys the pen, 2 bucks for cartridges (which I've only had to change out 3 out of the 7 pens I own) and 2 bucks for nibs (Only replaced 3, once more, out of the 7 pens i own, and 2 replacements were on the brush pen [I'm hard on the brush tip]).
